All aboard! The new playful and enchanting website for singer/songwriter Alessi’s Ark was a joy to design and develop. Designed using Alessi’s own beautiful artwork and with hidden animations dotted throughout, we hope the site reveals a surprise with each visit.
We’ve combined Alessi’s artwork into an ‘imaginary world’ based around one very tall tree.
Using a warm and natural colour palette, all the elements of the site have been designed to fit within the tree, making the construction of the site rather unusual – in essence the website is one long page. Starting at the top of the tree the user can navigate further and further down to the foot of the page and the foot of the tree trunk.
Latest news and gigs, an art gallery, a blog, newsletter sign up section and a shop are all integrated into the site along with a bespoke mp3 player, a dancing skeleton, some leaping fish and other strange creatures.
From a practical perspective the site is built on a CMS framework which allows Alessi to update and maintain all of the content and galleries herself.
As with all our sites; Google Apps, Analytics and Webtools have all been set up to allow the client to monitor visitor statistics and the performance of the site.
